Metal powder snowballs for pre christmas season

Christmas feeling for today's #MaterialsMonday

Our metal powder production at Rosswag Engineering is in a pre christmas mood. The CuSn alloy for the R&D project "ERBE" with main alloy component of tin turned out to form snow balls after spraying it with our gas atomisation.

But there is nothing to worry about. With just a little touch they all fell into single metal powder particles like fresh powder snow. After sieving and air classifying the metal powder is ready for printing.

The research project "Energy-efficient and resource-saving coating of tribologically stressed surfaces by extreme high-speed Laser Material Deposition (ERBE)” is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research in Germany in the program “KMU-innovativ” and is supervised by the German Aerospace Center.
