Pre-chamber spark plugs

These pretty cool pre-chamber spark plugs were printed for the R&D project MethMag with AISI 4140 💥

The quenched and tempered steel AISI 4140 (42CrMo4) is characterized by its high thermal conductivity and strength. It has a wide range of applications in the automotive industry. Especially for prototypes with different geometries and complex structures inside, 3D-printing has enormous cost and time advantages over conventional manufacturing processes.

The R&D project Methmag is about the development of a highly efficient internal combustion engine for use in light commercial vehicles by using an innovative lean-burn process in conjunction with (synthetic) methane.
