Next generation of aluminium cylinder heads for lean-burn process with internal cooling 💥 Maybe built in your future car from Ford Motors 🏎️

Recently, we printed these cylinder heads on our SLM Solutions SLM 280. With its length and width of 277 mm x 205 mm the component almost filled the whole build space.

Several internal cooling channels will provide a good heat dissipation during the combustion operation to gain efficiency advantages together with the addition of methan.

The research project "MethMag - High-efficiency internal combustion engine with innovative lean-burn process in combination with methane; subproject: Optimization and additive manufacturing of engine components.” is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action in Germany under the funding code 19I20014C and is supervised by the TÜV Rheinland.
